A fundraising gala is set to take place in Bolton this September to support a local father who suffered life-changing injuries in a devastating car park incident.
Turton Rotary Club is organising the event to raise vital funds for Lewis Rimmer, from Bromley Cross, who was seriously injured after being struck by a Range Rover outside Sainsbury’s Local on Darwen Road on October 27, 2025.
Mr Rimmer sustained catastrophic injuries in the collision, including a broken pelvis, fractures to both femurs, a severe compound fracture to his right leg, internal injuries, and multiple broken ribs. His left foot was later amputated. It’s part and parcel of Turton Rotary Club to give back to the local community, and this is something Lewis and his family have been involved in over the years.
A Fundraising Gala has been arranged for the cause, involving the local community Lewis is a part of while ensuring a great evening.
The evening, will include a three-course meal, live entertainment, comedy, and an auction and raffle.
The event will be hosted by Manny Beattie, with performances from the award-winning Cottontown Chorus and comedian Dr Kevin Jones, known as the “UK’s Funniest Doctor”.
