In May 2013 the Cottontown Chorus won the British Association
of Barbershop Singers Chorus Gold Medal. For an unprecedented
5th time in succession. All the choruses we competed against were
at such a high standard and the competition was close. However the
win means we are fortunate to get to compete at the Barbershop
Harmony Society Convention in Las Vegas in 2014.
Our aim is to represent British Barbershop and the UK at the
very highest level we can. We are going to push ourselves
further to achieve the highest place at international standings as
possible. To do so will mean taking as many of the chorus with us.
We are a volunteer chorus, with charitable status, meaning we
have a commitment to develop our art and encourage Barbershop
singing. It also means that everything we do we have to fundraise
for. Costumes, travel, coaching and equipment costs are all met by
subscriptions paid by our members and by fundraising.
We would like to be able to subsidise the our travel expenses
in 2014 and have embarked on an ambitious path of fundraising to
ensure we can. Activities like car boot sales, singouts, selling mobile
phones paid adverts on our website do so much and we could do
with a lift.
If you wish to get involved and support the Cottontown
Chorus by purchasing a raffle ticket at one of our events or you
can donate to our Las Vegas fundraising efforts by texting
