We recorded a song from lock-down last weekend. Many voices singing in isolation but coming together as one.

This is our heartfelt thank you to our NHS and key workers who are laying it on the line for us during the pandemic:

God Only Knows what we’d be without you.

We hope this brings a bit of sunshine into your day, a smile to your face and a lift to your heart.
We’re aiming to raise £1,000 for the Big Night In.You can donate using the links in the video, or use our Just Giving Page:

Thank you

The Cottontown Chorus

We’re a choir and singing is important to us. It gives comfort, pleasure, and camaraderie as well as solace in difficult times. Sadly, the current coronavirus pandemic has stopped us singing side-by-side with our friends. It has also taken away a dear friend of ours who will be greatly missed.

We wanted to do something to fight back and support the BBC’s Big Night In fundraiser for organisations and projects helping vulnerable people deal with the impact of Covid-19. And, as singing is what we do, that’s what we’ve done.

The Cottontown Chorus, from Bolton in Greater Manchester, is a men’s close harmony a cappella chorus that performs songs that range from Irving Berlin to Justin Timberlake, taking in on the way West Side Story, Meat Loaf, James Bond and much more.

We normally rehearse on a Tuesday evening, but during this lock-down we are, like choirs all over the world, having to get our weekly fix of singing at home and connect with each other on line. For this video, each member of the chorus recorded his own part at home, and these were then combined to produce the final result.

The beach theme reflects both The Beach Boys and happier times to come.

Stay safe everyone
